Wendy and Nigel Ranson a year ago when they were hoping their new diner would be a hit in Ashburton’s CBD. It’s now been forced to close because of rising costs and a lack of customers. Now there are concerns that other independent Ashburton eateries could go the same way unless the community supports them.
